In 1993 Microsoft Corporation released its first version of Windows NT 3.1, and this was a giant leap forward in Microsoft Windows technology. Then in 1994 Microsoft Corporation released Windows NT 3.5. Also in 1994 Executive Software Company released Diskeeper for Windows 3.5 which was a giant leap forward in disk optimization software. In 1996 I decided it was time to jump on the NT bandwagon and purchased my first copy of Microsoft's Windows NT 4.0.

From the very first boot up of NT 4.0 I was smitten with this new Microsoft operating system and this started a long time usage of the NT series of windows OS systems. What was lacking was of course a good disk optimization program for Windows NT 4.0. In addition, Microsoft's built-in optimizer/defrag program was slow and left a lot to be desired. I was a big-time fan of another old established software utility company (that shall remain nameless) and as they had just-released a new utility to optimize NT 4 I decided to try running it on my newly created Windows NT 4.0 PC. I was impressed with the graphic look of the new optimization system and watched it whirl away defragging my precious NT 4.0 computer. However, disaster was about to strike as when I rebooted my Windows NT 4.0 system it totally crashed, and I was unable to restore Windows NT 4.0 back to full operation. Hours of hard work and software set-up had been wiped out and it was back to the drawing board.

After reformatting my Windows NT 4.0 and reinstalling all other software for NT 4. I decided not to try the much-hyped new NT 4 third-party utility ever again on my computer and shelved the program. In a magazine ad I spotted a company named Executive Software and they claimed to have a new super utility for optimizing NT 4.0. After having had the disastrous experience with the other Defrag utility software and the system crash, as the saying goes "Once bitten, twice shy" I was very skeptical. However, after reading as much as I could on Diskeeper I decided to try it as I did not like the built-in Microsoft Disk Defrag tool. After I received my copy of Executive Software Diskeeper for NT 4.0, I installed it with a bit of hesitation to see if good old Murphy's Law would strike twice I clicked analyze and then optimize. Once again nice impressive graphics as Diskeeper did its thing and I cautiously awaited the reboot. As my NT 4 system rebooted I was pleasantly surprised to see my icons appear on the desktop and the PC actually did restart. I was impressed with the speed and operation of my new optimized NT 4.0 system. From that magnificent day forward in one version or another Executive Software's Diskeeper has been an integral part of my NT, Windows 2000, XP and Windows 7 systems. I have been very impressed that each new upgrade or version of Diskeeper software it has exceeded expectations and it has never ever failed or crashed any of our systems or partitioned hard drives- Plain and Simple Diskeeper works.

It wasn't long before Microsoft Cooperation got wind of Diskeeper and how good their software really was and in 1995 Microsoft and executive software partnered to make disk optimization software for windows operating systems. However in spite of this partnership I quite frankly never went back to using Windows built-in disk optimize again. My only wish is that Executive Software made cars and trucks because by now we would have vehicles that would get 200 miles per gallon.

Diskeeper 2011 professional with hyperfast technology does in fact speed up your file access and helps to keep your computer operating system and data files in an organized manner. An optimized computer system is faster, less wear and tear in your hard drive and can help prevent crashes. Diskeeper 2011 also has the ability to run in the background and defrag as you use your computer. This is a feature I really like and use on our systems. Once installed and set to run in the background you really never notice the software is even there until you check to see if the PC or laptop hard drive has become defragmented.

Testing Diskeeper 2011 for a few months on our systems I have not noticed a single problem, any errors, glitches or other little gremlins within the software. I don't know how Executive Software and Diskeeper manage to do it every time but they have a solid stable product that does exactly what is stated by Diskeeper Corporation web site. They also offer Diskeeper software for servers and networks and IT departments now have a unique software package and the ability to manage the network terminals hard drives and keep them optimized as well. You can download a 30 day demo of their product for your home or home office or business. However I suggest you buy a copy as Diskeeper Corporation has a 30 day refund policy but in all honesty this is one piece of software you will not return. As a long-time fan and user of Diskeeper software I can honestly say this software works as stated by the software manufacturer. Diskeeper 2011 is a very solid performer and great value for the money and great Canadian reviews we rated five out of five and Diskeeper 2011 is awarded the GCR's gold leaf award for excellence.
