Halo Reach is the latest or dare I say first in a series of highly successful Xbox 360 first-person shooter single or online team playing game. At the E3 technology, conference Microsoft Games announced they plan to release a Halo 4 for the holiday season 2012. The Halo series are video games created by Bungie and owned/ published by Microsoft Game Studios. In the Halo Reach, game Bungie takes the players back to the point of origin and the first epic battles. Much like Star Wars the last in the series of Halo is actually the first battle between humankind and the Covenant.

In year 2552, the Covenant discovered planet Reach humanities last line of defense. That you and United Nations Space Command or UNSC mounted an unparalleled assault against the alien war machine at the heart of this conflict was noble team and experienced group of accomplished soldiers prepared to meet the enemy head-on now with the addition of the team's newest member noble six the squad will face the most challenging mission yet the defense of Reach... In what well maybe the twilight of human existence.

Halo Reach is the biggest and most ambitious Halo title yet includes an intense pulse pounding campaign and addictive for multiplayer a riveting four player cooperative firefight mode. Plus a massive Forge world experience and theater mode to capture all of with more modes maps missions and features a never before Halo Reach represents the most complete Halo experience security forces stunning visuals powerful story epic encounters and more player replay ability than any other Halo to date.

In 2552, the Covenant discovered the planet Reach, humanity's last line of defense. The UNSC mounted an unparalleled assault against the alien war machine, and at the heart of this conflict was Noble Team, an experienced group of accomplished soldiers prepared to meet the enemy head-on. Now, with the addition of the team's newest member-Noble Six this squad will face its most challenging mission yet: the defense of Reach…in what may well be the twilight of human existence.

I have been a fan of Halo games since the beginning and I was thoroughly impressed with the gameplay ability the exceptional graphics and visuals in this new Halo game. Halo Reach is the last or I guess you could say the first of the Halo series and explains how the war between the Covenant and the war with humanity started. I was very surprised when the Halo game came first came out the lack of it interest by other reviewers and I long awaited my opportunity to buy a copy of the Halo Reach game to play and review.

From the very beginning, I was awestruck by the game's graphics, playability, and the enemy AI intelligence, which would keep any player in single mode on the edge of their seat. Even in single player mode, Halo Reach does not disappoint any Halo fan and the game gives you hours of action-packed gameplay. In this game, the artificial intelligence the humans discover on Reach is in fact who is in the first Halo game on the Pillar of Autumn spaceship along with the master chief who is a hero of many of the Halo stories.

Number six of noble group looks a lot like the master chief of the previous Halo games and he is chosen by Cortana to carry the intelligence to the pillar of autumn. In addition, in another Halo games the master chief protects, Cortana and carries her or the AI. However, the last battle on Reach number six is killed by the Covenant and his helmet is left on the dusty plains battlefield of Reach. Number six helmet first appears in one of the first opening scenes of the game, they reflect back on Noble's part in the battle for Reach. However, during the game play there is no explanation how the master chief come into being or how he is starts on the pillar of autumn. Nevertheless in all of the Halo games, the Master Chief's story has never been explained as how he became Spartan-II a super soldier-perhaps someday the answer will be revealed.

The storyline aside, the game is designed for the Xbox-360 and you could play in single player mode which I do or you can play a with Xbox live online and play with others or have your own team play against other teams. Halo Reach as an Xbox game does not disappoint the player and does represent excellent value in gameplay for the money. The graphics and action within the game has to be one of the best I have ever seen for the Xbox-360. In some cases, the scenery is so beautiful and captivating the player can spend a few more moments gazing at the surroundings without realizing the enemy is upon you.

Microsoft games and Bungie have surpassed any game action I have ever played on the Xbox 360. If you have an Xbox-360 and are a fan of the Halo series and first person shooter games, then Halo Reach is necessary must have addition for your collection. Unlike like the other Halo games that are almost a third of the game is spent battling the Flood or night of the living dead, in Halo Reach there is no Flood creatures that attack you. If Bungie makes another Halo series, I certainly hope they follow Halo Reach and leave the battles between the Covenant and humankind.

It would take a very long review to cover everything I like in this first last of the Halo series. Halo Reach is a classic and classy first-person shooter game with excellent vistas, fast-paced action for any avid game player. I rate Halo a 4/5. Unfortunately, Halo really deserves a 5+5 but in all conscience, I cannot do this because of problems with the Halo DVD disc cracking near the centre hole and causing an error to be displayed on screen: "players failed to load content." I checked the Bungee website, many players are complaining of defective discs, and the " players failed to load content" error. I contacted Bungee and Microsoft games and they are going to replace my disk. This is the second new Xbox DVD disc that has cracked and I am not sure as to the cause however being a computer consultant/technician and a long time game player I find the new disks are thinner and may be attributing to the cracking.

I highly recommend when you buy a new Xbox360 game you remove the game from its case and insert into a protective DVD disc sleeve. This will allow you to remove and play the game without exerting pressure on the center where these discs are tending to crack. In my older game discs for the Xbox 360, I have never had any one-disk crack near the center hole, this seems to be characteristic with the newest Xbox games and I suspect the DVDs being lighter cannot take the stress. This is a problem that Microsoft and their game manufacturers need to address as soon as possible or they will lose business for the Xbox.
