Kaspersky Internet security 2003 is available online or may be purchased from a big-box store, computer or electronics reseller. Installation is easy and straightforward, but remember to uninstall any existing or free antivirus product and reboot your computer/ laptop before installing to prevent conflicts. Kaspersky Internet security 2013 may be installed on three computers or laptops. After installing, the computer will require a reboot and Kaspersky Internet security will automatically update its database. Once the databases finished updating it is recommended to run a quick or full scan on your PC or laptop. The scan menu allows users to run a quick scan, full scan, or a vulnerability scan from which you can scan individual directories, files, etc.

When you insert a memory stick, flash or removable drive into a USB port, a window will pop up asking you if you wish to do an express or full scan or not scan the device. I highly recommend running at least a quick scan. The product testing of Kaspersky Internet security 2012/13 was a team effort to see how well the product would perform on different systems. The following is feedback from the team and their results using to Kaspersky products. The following paragraphs are from our Reviewers:

Stuart Craine:
During 2012 and the previous winter, I had been constantly attacked by various viruses and malware, especially one bad virus that passed itself off as an anti-virus program. Once infected with it, I could not completely eliminate it from my computer, and it kept returning. To eliminate the bug I had to reformat and install a new XP operating system and all software. I lost everything saved to the computer hard drives including my research and family photos that I had not yet saved to DVD. After the new operating system was installed, I also installed a back-up utility to image the hard drive, and began backing up my computer weekly to an external backup. While this prevented the loss of new material and programing in the future, my computer was still being attacked by viruses and malware.

After installing a free security program and running it daily helped identify and eliminate some malware that was present on my computer, it did not prevent the viruses from infecting the computer. I tried several different antivirus programs, with varying degrees of results, but none of them was completely successful in identifying and preventing virus attacks, especially some of the dangerous ones. On a couple of occasions, only the fact that I was backing up my computer with a back-up utility saved me from having to reprogram my computer and losing all my material.

Last spring (2012), we installed Kaspersky Internet Security, and since then I have had absolutely no problems with viruses and malware. Kaspersky identifies and stops viruses, malware and other infectious applications before it can corrupt the computer. Facts: from 01/01/2012 to present Kaspersky Internet Security has identified and prevented 39 Viruses, 25 Trojan programs, 2 malicious objects, 167 Malicious URLs, 150 Spam and 2 malicious applications infecting my computer.

Backing up my computer weekly, and using Kaspersky has kept my computer completely free and clean of viruses and malware from the minute, I installed it. Not only, am I completely satisfied with the job Kaspersky does, I also feel a lot more secure while working on the computer. One more thing I really like about Kaspersky Labs, is they use terms in plain English when explaining about a viruses or in their online support files—you do not need a degree in computer science to run their programs.

Dorothy Wagner:
My computer knowledge is primarily in photography, artistic and graphic-design programs. I rely heavily on my technical computer friends and their recommendations of programs to keep my computer safe and functioning. Prior to installing and running Kaspersky Internet Security 2012/2013, a host of spyware, browser hijacking, and the fake security tools plagued me. After Don asked me to install and review Kaspersky Internet Security, it cleaned up the malware plaguing my computer.

Since installing Kaspersky Security 2013 my computer has been working beautifully. I weekly run and use both the full and quick scans that find all sorts of "dreadful" things such as spyware that I can eliminate. In addition, Kaspersky Internet security finds things that other programs seem to overlook such as bad website URL's or corrupt links within an email. The protected browser for all banking and credit card operations gives me the feeling of security. The Kaspersky program has kept my computer safe and working. I will not be without it.

Thomas Vickerman: I have Kaspersky running on three desktops ( towers), a laptop, and a notebook computers. One tower uses XP Pro; the others' operating systems range from Windows 7 pros to Win 7 home versions. I use my PC’s for business and email; however, I also play standalone and online games for recreation. Kaspersky Internet Security 2012/2013 has protected all of our systems with no problems, and is neither memory intensive nor a resource hungry program. From, business, spreadsheets, email, banking or game play, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 is, in my opinion, one of the best Internet security programs in the market to date.

With any antivirus security program one can never be 100% sure your computer will be safe hundred percent of the time. The end user must also be proactive and be very careful when clicking on links within e-mails. The end user is responsible to back up their data, photographs, e-mails and the other important information onto one or more DVDs or external backup drives. In addition, the end user must remember to run scans often and a full scan every few weeks...an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I wish to thank Stuart, Dorothy and Thomas for all their efforts to make our review of Kaspersky Internet security 2013 a success. They proved the Kaspersky Internet security program is a very stable and reliable program to protect your computer system. The Kaspersky programs offer ease-of-use to scan and automatic updates to its database giving the end user peace of mind knowing their systems are protected.

All three reviewers have rated Kaspersky Interment Security 2013 the best antivirus programs they have used and Great Canadian Reviews awards them our coveted Gold Leaf Award for Excellence.
